Meet our Charleston Classroom Facilitator, Winard.
Winard grew up in circumstances many people can’t imagine. No running water, no electricity, not enough food. He turned to the streets to escape poverty and landed in prison for eight years. After his release, Winard wanted something different but didn’t know how to change. Turn90 helped him find a new direction after prison, and today he helps teach others like him to do the same.

Help Winard and others like him find a way out of the incarceration cycle and onto a path toward success.
Turn90 creates an opportunity for success after prison where one doesn't currently exist. The program is pioneering in its approach. It combines cognitive behavioral classes, supportive services, on-site transitional employment, and job placement to offer a proven model of prison re-entry with a 78% success rate.

Donor-Advised FundsDonor-Advised Funds (DAFs) are very effective charitable giving vehicles whereby donors set aside money to be granted to charitable organizations. You can support Turn90 through a DAF grant. When processing a DAF grant through a charitable giving account, search for Turn90 by tax ID number (46-0671501).
Retirement Plans and IRAs
A retirement plan, such as an IRA, can be a smart source for charitable giving. If you are 70½ years or older, an IRA charitable rollover gift allows you to direct up to $100,000 tax-free to Turn90 each year from your traditional IRA, which satisfies your required minimum distribution and reduces your taxable income. Contact your IRA custodian to request a direct distribution to Turn90. Married taxpayers who meet QCD requirements and file joint returns can donate $100,000 from each spouse’s IRA, for a total of $200,000 annually.
Corporate Matching Gifts
Many companies match donations made by their employees to registered nonprofit organizations. We encourage you to inquire from your company if they might be able to match your donation this year. The impact of your gift to Turn90 could potentially be doubled and sometimes even tripled!
